Running sub on receiver

So I just reconed my sub and don't have an amp to play it on yet in my car just wanna make sure it 100% ready to go before I put it in my truck....safe to play on receiver at low volumes?

A home Reciever? Sure, just make sure you wire the coils up to get a higher ohm load as most recievers like 6-8 ohm+ iirc.

I would just run the 9V battery test on the coils over doing that. You will be sending like 14 watts rms (if you're talking about the car receiver) to it by doing that which you might not even notice anything. Just touch the + of the 9V battery to + on the VC and same with the - and -. The cone should move up and stay up until you take the battery off. Then it will come back down.

Yea I'm wiring the sub to 8ohm on the home receiver just didn't want to hurt the coil or anything
