trying to install an aftermarket radio on an older car

i have a 1994 buick lasabre and im not able to connect my 12s because the facotry radio doesnt have the ports needed well i bought an aftermarket radio and now i got another problem. the setup of the car radio system had a bunch of different cables and the aftermarket radio dont have the same ports as the factory radio so i would like to know how would i be able to mix the cables together so they will match my after market radio? do i do it by color?
