Running speakers just off HU.

So I recently just took out my system do to space issues. My head unit only puts out 16x4. I'm just looking for loud vocals, no bass needed (obviously since I just took out my BTL ), trying to run a set of comps or coax off it. Prolly slim chance I know. I have a Sundown 100.2 and no, I don't want to use it. Just don't feel like running them off an amp. Don't feel like running power wire, mounting amp etc, wiring speakers, etc. Just don't feel like it. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Depends on what speaks you get. you can get some that would actually be fine off HU power. Its just kinda weak and usually the speakers dont sound as good.

When I was stuck running the stock radio in my car I upgraded the awful stock speakers with Infinity Reference. While by no means great speakers, they were cheap, efficient enough to be decently loud on stock HU power, and an immense upgrade over the stockers.

Go back to OEM mids the car came with then, I will buy the 100.2 for $100 if you dont need it = )

I actually ran a kicker component set of a head unit when I got my very first system and believe it or not it sounded really good. As long as it a lower power handleing set you'll be fine.

I rock JL coaxials. I think it is the TX series. However, I am thinking of finding a full range 4" for the fronts.

Yes. A old pioneer. I am tired of car audio at the moment. It is okay at best.
