Running speakers just off HU.

I just drop one my alpine type s coaxial the other day and the tweeter broke. I wasn't sad at all. they sound like shit

I'll try some polk db. Nice speaker at a great price. I used to run some 6x9 for over two year and they were loud off little power

You want to look for high sensitivity ratings to get the most out of headunit power. For example if pioneer speakers had a sensitivity rating of 87 db and infinity had a sensitivity rating of 90 db. That would be 3db more meaning that is a doubling of your power from your headunit.

In other words the infinity's would play twice as loud as the pioneer on the same power. Sensitivity is everything if your looking to get the most out of your headunit. The boston acoustics s series full range speakers is the best you can do if your looking to get the most out of your headunit. There speakers have a sensitivity rating of 92 db.

I ran polk momo's off my alpine head unit for about 4 months and it sounded rely good. The bass hit slightly hard shook my mirrors lol and was able to crank it pretty loud before distortion. Go for it they will sound pretty good.

um, I second putting the amp in... it'd be just as easy as wiring up the sub amp. obviously you had an amp to run the BTL unless you ran that on HU power as well.. a good reason to buy the cheapest wires you can get. you can leave them there even when you sell the car LOL...

I actually left a pioneer 8400mp and Orion P6.2 components in my last car I traded in... car was fully dynamated too, they kinda scored on the audio front...
