Tinsel Snap? WTF, I meant Tinsel Slap //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I heard some sort of rubbing/slapping at certain bass frequencies coming from my SPZ60 Mid. My initial thought was rubbing against the door panel. Removed the door panel and it still occurs. Checked the mid and everything seems fine, no signs of defects.

It has only happens at high volumes with heavy mid bass playing. Also, it only is heard from one mid, not both.

I have never experience tinsel slap so I am not quite sure if it is. From the reading I have been doing on "tinsel slap" it seems like that is what I hear at certain frequencies. From reading it looks like to solve tinsel slap you should "glue" the tinsel to the spider? Confused.

run the speaker while it is out of the door, see if it is slapping. you can hold the tinsel's up with your finger while it is playing to see if the noise stops. i have had this happen to me before.

Excuse the music, but you can really hear the noise in this song. Not sure if it captured good though with the camera.

I really don't think it can be bottoming out with only 60 wrms crossed at 60 hz. Any how, they have been RMA.
