it's been recommended that I run a PASSIVE x-over with my TWEETERS in my ACTIVE setup...I wouldnt run passive's to the midbass or midrange--tweets only...I've been told it keeps the tweets from blowing in the event of things such as turn-on pops?

thanks for the input

That's retarded as hell!!

haha... just kidding, I just wanted to fit in.

But seriously, if your active filter can hit the same MHz and same slope as your passive crossover, what's the difference?

The value in an active system is that you can change the crossover points and slopes for a customized sound, based on your car interior and listening preferences.

What is your "active setup"?

I'm running a 3-way Hybrid Audio Legtia 631 set...7.4" midbass, 3.5" midrange and tweets...midB in the door, midR in dash, tweets in A-Pillars...

Running a JL 300/2 to each piece of the system...Obviously, running all of it through an active crossover...
