Running a amp at 1/2 OHM .

The main reason (for me at least) to run below an ohm is due to D1 coils and all that fun stuff. Wiring them up to 2ohm is a lack of power, but .5 is a lot of power; not all subs have D2 coils or D4 coils for pairs. I try to get my load as close to 1ohm as possible. Ive ran two D1.4 coils down to .7ohm (but with box rise i got 1.1ohms) but thats it

Yes they do make SK-2500.1's
SK-2500.1D

Just checked the ssa site like 2 days ago about this and they only have the 1500 and 4500 listed...weird

run at 2 ohms and be safe. unless you have money to throw away on a new amp that is if that one fries

What kind of subs do you have?

contemplating hcca's however I may not have the space for 2 15's so ill either go (4) 10"s or one 15.

I almost always run my sub amps at. 5 ohm daily or even lower. Running. 35 right now...daily. after rise you'll be a magician if you aren't close to 1 ohm or higher.

yea lol with box rise at .5 ohm ur probably still gonna see over 1 ohm some people are lucky to be right at 1 ohm with rise some amps will handle it like the crossfire bmf 1700 that ****** is bullet proof people run it at .25 daily the saz 3500 took .5 daily like a champ dropping to 11.8 volts barely would get warm

You wouldn't believe some of the low budget amps we've driven at very low ohm loads. All of which make it out alive.

Run 2 for every day, feel free to go to .5 if you're competing. The gain in output is minimal when compared to the extra stress on the amp IMO.
