running 2nd battery

Thinking about running a second battery for my car. I had a question tho. Is it better to run 1 separate cable for the 2nd battery negative (from the batt negative under the hood) or to make your own ground in the trunk.

No, you def don't need 2 runs of 1/0 to the back, especially not one neg and one pos.

no, it's overkill in most situations, and costs a lot more money to do so!

It cuts down on ground loop but not necessary.

Yup. Resistance of the body is greater than 1/0 wire.

your better off just grounding the amps directly to the battery instead of the location of where you grounded the battery.

You can, but that's just going to add resistance to the circuit.

Same thing with grounding to the frame instead of running straight to the front battery. You are adding 2 extra connections which is has the potential to add resistance to the circuit. A high powered circuit.
