i have 2 re sx 12's dual 2 ohms running off a memphis mc-1000d in 3.1 cubes ported tuned to 34hz. which way would be louder? if i continue to run the pair and about 550 or so watts apiece or throw 1100 at one sub in about a 2 cube box tuned about the same or maybe a little higher?

what kinda vehicle? are you trying to get louder for competiion or just street banging? we need more info..

its a 2002 mazda protege, my sole purpose of the system is just daily driving. but if a comp comes around my area i would like to get it metered just for the hell of it. either way louder is better cause i do a lotta highway driven, which gives me a lotta time to let it rip.

Hello. If you did just the one with full power, you'll be happy! It'll be plenty loud enough to tickle the ears quite a bit. The 2 will actually be a little louder but it's not worth the space you're going to be giving up for the 2 vs the one. Good luck with it!
