Rubicon 1.400 Issue

So I love how this amp performs but I have one small issue.

To get the bass output where I want it, I need to turn up the gain until there is a barely audible low hum that I only hear between songs.

The odd thing is that if I have no audio signal and I hear the hum, turning on the headlights totally eliminates the hum.

Any ideas?

Kenwood head unit with a Alpine 4 channel 200 watt amp hidden in console forward of shifter.

Sub amp 4 Gauge power wire from battery (left front) through firewall. Wire is routed above pedal bracketry and at least a foot behind the head unit, probably 6" from the Alpine 4 channel. It then snakes rearward to the glove box area and is routed behind the bottom of the glove box to the right side.. It's routed down the passenger side through the moldings and kick panels along the bottom of the right side doors and then into the trunk.

The RCA's and remote wire go down through the console (separated by at least 8") and under the rear carpet. They are split apart under the rear seat and routed through opposite sides of the trunk, remote to the right and RCA's to the left. There is about a 10" section where the remote wire runs next to the power wire into the trunk next to the rear seat.

Check all your wires to make sure none of them got cut opened. Then, it's going to be RCA's. They bring the sound to your amp. It's picking up interference somewhere.
