Depending on your rooming situation, you can lock him in his room. While he's sleeping tie go up to his door and tie one end of an extension cord or anything really to his door knob. Then tie the other end to something in the vicinity that won't break when pulled on (another door knob, a railing, etc)

Also, you can use dental floss and tie stuff to the door on your fridge so when he opens the fridge it looks like the stuff is going to fall and spill on the floor, but the dental floss is short enough it just hangs there.
