Roll-on candy paint???

ok.. short version is this. candy paint means no more than a translucent paint. it only shows itself with the right color under it.so that said, i started with a black, then waited for it to flash.. then adjusted nozzel to spray a little wetter and covered black with a metallic silver. this is actually what makes the blue show up..

While the silver is still wet( i mean within seconds of laying it down) have plastic wrap from your wifes drawer ready to go and lay it on the wet silver paint.pat it carefully so set it on paint and peal off. will resemble this:

Then apply 3 coats ( or your preference) of your candy paint followed by 3 coats of clear.

im gonna edit this in a few min when pics upload

Awesome, thanks!

You paint is only as good as your prep. If your existing paint is bad you'll need to do an awful lot of sanding then use a tack cloth. Ideally you'll do it in a proper paint booth because not only is overspray a nuisance, but any dust or pollen or anything in the air will mess up your finish. After painting you need wet sanding, then buffing, then clearcoat, then buffing again. Doing paint RIGHT is labor intensive and at bare minimum you'll need a good bit of sandpaper, tape, tack cloths, and a booth. From there I've got great results with just cans of paint (on small areas).

You might consider plasti-dip as a substitute since it's thick enough to be forgiving if you don't know how to lay paint on, and if you really botch a section you can just peel it off.

not bad for 17 years old eh?? lol

All Super cheap paint jobs with cheap equipment. All were painted in a car port and these are my first attempts at painting (obviously) I kind of dove in head first to painting but if you want to know what was used in each one I'll be happy to give you a material list (at least as close as I can remember)

All of the conquests and starions were 2.6 turbo's. Only engine offered. the silver one had a 5.0 swap with a turbo.... It had enough power to spin your 13 alternators lol

Yeah that's what I'm worried about. I was thinking about do a bed liner paint job also. My lady said she wants to see a flat satin black....I really would like a nice paint....I wonder how it would look if I did the primer, silver then had maacco do the the candy coat....

But 4real I wouldn't go there but you get the idea

Lol, I only have one 320 amp hairpin on my 2.5L right now. May add another of those or a 400 amp hairpin if I need to later on
