Rock/alt. songs that hit hard

Great thread.

Any 311 cd will have some good bass on most of the tracks. Grassroots is one that you cannot afford to miss if you have a rocking system.

Tool again, always FTMFW.

Metallica actually has some great recordings that sound tremendous on a good system.

Amazingly enough a lot of the Pink Floyd stuff does as well. I think the band members were early entrants into the hifi home audio world, so their recordings just got better & better with each production.

I can't wait to hear Crossfade's "Cold" when I install my system.

Hey, I just said it hit hard, not that I thought he was the end all be all. I don't even own that cd, but I've neard it, and it in fact pounds. That's all.
Old AFI FTW!

Manson is the same as hanson? yeah, the dude has put on a lot of show tactics for publicity, but just because he's "popular" doesn't mean it's pop. Everyone thought he was this dark, twisted loser about 8 years ago, and now that he's mainstream, all the "alt" people want to bash. *shake* Shit doesn't have to be uncool to be cool anymore, and I personally don't care how many gimmicks he used to make money - everyone does it, I still think he puts down some pretty high - energy angry music that it's fun to listen to at high volume //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif.

Now to make a USEFUL contribution -

Chevelle - comfortable liar (a lot of chevelle's stuff has wicked rumble).

Some of NIN's stuff from the fragile - disc 2 or LEFT I think it was has long, low tones that shake the crap outta stuff.

Lamb of God - Laid to Rest

Mushroomhead - Before I Die

Metallica - No Leaf Clover (live off S & M)

Mudvayne - Pushing Through

Korn - Blind

Nevermore - Sentient 6

Nevermore - Sell My Heart for Stones

Queensryche - Sign of the times

Just a few off the top o' the noggin.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Edit: Alot of songs off of the stadium arcadium from the RHCP's bumps pretty well. Don't forget about disturbed.

The entire Peeping Tom(Mike Pattons newer project, and if you don't know who Mike Patton is, you don't deserve to!)Album.-On a side note, Norah Jones does a hguest spot on it, sounds sexy as all hell saying "motherfvcker"

I second these votes

Type699 for Nickelback - Animals but I'd substitute it for Folloy you Home (as a drummer, I love the beginning)

and skmfkr for full devil jacket

here's more out of my personal collection

Dark New Day - Evergreen

Dream Theater - Hell's Kitchen

Default - Hiding from the sun

Joe Satriani - Cool New Way (some good bass guitar stuff, long held out notes)

Nine Inch Nails - Big Come Down

Our Lady Peace - Innocent (off the Live Album)

Project 86 - Salem's Suburbs

Rise Against - Tip the Scales (pretty much any rise against song)

Stereomud - Pain
