Rock/alt. songs that hit hard

opeth - grand conjuration

saosin - they perch on their stilts...

atreyu - the crimson

- five vicodin chased by a shot of clarity

the entire album S.C.I.E.N.C.E. by incubus sounds great (1998, b4 they sold out and started licking eachother's balls)

five bolt main - pathetic

trivium - rain

any pantera album that isnt called 'cowboys from hell' (which is poorly recorded in comparison with their later studio albums)

killswitch engage - the end of heartache

walls of jericho - a trigger full of promises

everything on the new tool album (as well as on the albums 'lateralus' and 'aenima') sounds great with my type R pushed by the JL amp, but its very musical, i wouldnt say it hits hard

JASON5703, i agree with you on the new BB album. it is far superior in production to their previous album, we are not alone. this has, IMO, everything to do with budget and the additional post-production time they prob had after the success of their last album, because David Bendeth produced both.

hes a decent producer, or at least he can be, i hated what he did on the new 'as i lay dying album,' which sounds awful even on my morel hybrid ovation comps.

at the same time, one of the noticeably-well produced metal albums of recent release i can think of is candiria's 2004 release, 'what doesnt kill you.' he was also credited on that album for many of the arrangements.

anyways, sorry i momentarily hijacked ur thread greco, but i did give u at least a bunch of songs that 'kick' ranging over a wide variety of styles of hard rock. my bad bro, but if u couldnt tell, i am a little too passionate about music for my own good.

Marilyn Mason's Dope Show is a good one.
i would never step in and question someone's taste in music, generally that is. but bro, ur icon is the cover from AFI's 'all hallow's' EP. not many people go back that far with AFI, and to know about that 4 song EP, you gotta keep your ear to the ground, as they say.

since we've established u got taste in music, and u know the early/undergroud shit, i gotta ask u, respectfully, WTF? manson is no diff than hanson, they both got where they were on gimmicks, not talent. to each is own bro, but when i saw ur post i thought, 'who is this poseur,' and then i saw the old school AFI icon, realized u know ur sh*t, and was baffled enough to put down my law school work and write this useless addition to this thread. c'mon bro, keep it real, with all respect.

Hey, I just said it hit hard, not that I thought he was the end all be all. I don't even own that cd, but I've neard it, and it in fact pounds. That's all.

Old AFI FTW!
