RMS wattage Kicker Comp 12's

Hey guys I am fairly new to this board but I have a quick question for you guys. I have a pair of kicker comp 12 inch subs that are in a box and the impedance is 4 ohms. The sub specs are 150 Watts RMS to each sub. Would it be ok to run a 500 Watt RMS amplifier on these subs? How much can these actually take. I found a deal on a few amps and I would like to go a little more powerful in case I want to upgrade speakers later on down the road. Would the 500 do any damage to the subs?

cool, thanks guys! I guess i will just make sure that I do not set my gain up past like 3/4's of the way up.

but be sure to stop if it starts sounding distorted. and turn it down just a bit. that way you dont over do it, and start clipping!
