Help with 12" console 03 Chevy Silverado.

Trying to help a friend who has an RE Audio SE 12" and needs to know if a custom console box is possible. His truck is an extended cab. I have been trying to find pictures of someone who has done this but none yet. The box will need to be ported. Thanks for any links or advice!

what year is the truck? I would think it would be quite a tight fit and certainly ported would be a LONG shot if not unfeasible (not impossible).

Everything is possible but it depends on if the end justifies the means. Got any dimensions or pictures of where it is going? Does it need to look factory or at least resemble something OEM. Can you go all the way to the dash and all the way to the back seat? Possible go under the back seat some to gain some more air volume. Downfiring or rear firing or up firing? Just some quick questions that are poping into my head to try and get a better idea of the ultimate goals of this setup.

I started my project doing the same thing in my chevy crew cab. It'll go from the dash to between the back seat. It'll house 4 12" RL-ps tuned to 34Hz.

My buddy has an 05 extended cab, not too sure of the differences but I doubt there can be many. If your willing to go from the dash to the back seat then shouldn't be a problem at all and should be able to come out looking like it belongs there too.

Personally I would go with a downfire, might not be quite as flashy but maintains the greatest utlility of the new console as an arm rest and possible storage/cupholders/throw your crap here spot. Could put a piece of plexi on the top looking into the box if you want to show off the driver with some neon and such maybe to spice it up.

I wish I had pictures for ya, but it would definitely be doable, maybe even for a pair ported. I just finished doing a sealed box for a single 12 that is completely inside an 08 super duty center console so should be doable in a chevy, and could maybe even be done inside a factory console, but if not some fiberglass should be able to make it work and look good.

np.. I didn't want to waste the shops time if it wasn't close to being possible. I don't have the tools to pull off this kind of build and I dont know many shops close that I trust anymore. Most of the good ones have shut down around me. I was more or less looking for someone who has done it and what it ended up looking like.

Maybe go to fullsizechevy.com or gmfullsize.com and look through the audio threads. I'm sure you might find something there. There is also a thread here in the project section that they did the same thing on a fullsize ford.

Yeah, ive been going through the threads. I actually found a shop that is local we may go talk to. I can only imagine what they will charge for this.

I don't think I would ever want to know lol, its not that it would be overly hard to accomplish but would certainly take a bit more thought that a hatch or SUV and definitely take plenty of man hours in sanding and shaping depending on how you wanted it to come out.

This is my center console with a Orion H2 10. built a ported enclosure and then finished it off with some fiberglass work. OH, this is a 03' crewcab.
