Well I figured out what to do about my amp that is only 4 ohm stable bridged. Profile has a line of Mono Sub Amps. You can look on Crutchfield for more info but here are the basics.

Choice number 1:

Profile CA600M 300W x 1 Car Subwoofer Amp

420 watts at 2 ohms • variable low-pass crossover • speaker level inputs • bass boost • power light strip

Choice number 2:

Profile 600MSX 300W x 1 Car Subwoofer Amp

410 watts at 2 ohms • variable low-pass crossover • speaker level inputs • bass boost • power light strip

Choice number 3:

Profile Clarus CL600M 300W x 1 Car Subwoofer Amp

450 watts RMS at 2 ohms • variable low-pass crossover • subsonic filter • speaker level inputs • preamp outputs • power light strip

Choices one and two are basically the same except number 1 just came out this year. The third choice is the most expensive but fits my needs the best. I just wanted to know what you guys thought about these and what is the MAX output of the amp at 2 ohms. I dont wanna go over 1000 watts but as close as I can to it.

Thanks

If there is anyone who knows of an amp that is 2 ohm stable bridged or a mono sub amp that puts out 300watts rms and 1000 peak I would sure like to know. I heard Soundstream amps were really nice.

I ordered a Clarus Profile amp from Crutchfield and it came DOA. It would power up fine and everything, but produced very little sound (I had to press my ear to my sub to hear it) and distorted sound regardless of the gain settings and input method (high/low) so I exchanged it. Received a new amp (same kind) and the SAME thing happened. This time, I exchanged it for an Alpine amp and have had no troubles.

So, to sum it up, I have not had good experience with these amps, but Crutchfield has great customer service and will replace it no questions asked if you have problems. I would suggest that if you really want to try one, go ahead and buy it and if it doesn't work out, get your money back for it.

Right...I didn't bash Clarus or anything like that. I just sezied the oppurtunity to provide a pertinent situation that occured so that he could take it into consideration when finally deciding what to buy. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

once in a while there are some defects. mine was perfect though. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

u could get a hifonics z6400

wire it like this....

bridge channel 3+4 = 320x1@ 4ohms watts enough for a sub (also has subsonice filter on that baby)

and use other channels as 85x2 @4ohms

run wear speakers off ur deck.

Hey guys I checked out the US acoustics USX600D amp. I have a few questions about it. It only has a 20A fuse in it. Isnt this way under what it should be to put out 600 watts? Or is this just because its a class D. Does it put out more than 600 watts max, is it underrated? Cause if it is I might just pick it up. Thanks.
