How many products do you see that say "CEA APPROVED"? Not very many.

^ only the name brand mainstream stuff... and IMO the CEA rating system sucks anyway...

There are several IEC standards some companies use which hold a little more weight...

i see some things that are cea rated. all i was saying is that was the attempt by cea to standardize the testing and ratings. from that i know rockford,kenwood and kicker are cea rated. as far as dd and sundown and some of the spl comp type stuff i have no idea.

DD, Sundown and the like go one farther and actually state the conditions of the measurement.
