rl-p box rebuild question!

i currently have my rl-p 15 in around a 1.6 cu.ft sealed box. This thing wangs pretty good, but it always irked me that im not using the optimum box size, cuz its a prefab. Well i have the opportunity to upgrade my system in the near future. here are my options...

1.Get an rl-p 18, build box to proper dimensions.

or

2. Rebuild my box for my rl-p 15 to proper dimensions.

Im very excited about the 18. Altho my system has a very nice balance between lowend and upper end right now, it sounds great. Im wondering if moving to an 18 with offset my system balance.

I also plan to put a cpl more AA mids/tweets in the rear deck, and maybe a midbass driver somwhere in there im not sure.

From experience of different subs, Save your money and build a different box, if you're still not happy with it, get another 15 RL-p.

This is what I would do, make a ported box for your current 15" RL-p

if you're not happy with that

Get another RLP15 and run them at 1ohms, assuming your amp is 1ohm stable since you're at 2ohms now you have a DVC4. Run them sealed first, if you're still not happy without put, run them ported if you got the space.

no im very happy with my output right now, but i just want an 18 cuz it looks so sexy.

its just the fact that i know a better box will get me extra performance with my current setup.
