RK-P INSTALL!! help guys!

doode...if taht sub barely make your mirrors shake....then u suk ***....i bet you probably set up the H/u wrong......yeaa i bet ....chek your H/U play around wit it....(ur cd player...)

so by a SHOP installing a system makes me **** ***? dude read ur shit before u post dumb *** nonsense like you have in this thread. as stated my box is a little shady and small, so that is the first thing to change. i will prolly throw it in my back seat and make it around 3.5 cubes ported and get that real output. but i ALWAYS leave my bass level on my headunit at 0 because it seams to let out the cleanest bass. but anyways....its better now, i still think a ported box would be a whole lot better for it, but boy do i enjoy it!

hey man i had the rl-p woes at first too. i was like, wtf this speaker blows lol. then i figured out that i had a bad ground in one of my rca's, fixed it up, and this thing hits hard, and very clean.

every gave u some good advice, like dont use bass boost, set gains correctly, and it will sound very good. our installs are almost identical really. i have a rl-p 15 in 1.6cuft2, I too wanted to have trunk space, and i made a very good decision with the rl-p. glad everything worked out for you.

Honestly, your problem was your box and amp settings...

It goes to show you that it really is the install that makes a sound system.

Anyway, from looking at your picture, it looks to me like you have room to go ported if you really wanted to...

if it works it works right? im tryna figure out what to use to set my gains.

the way i set mine was by ear lol. i set everything on my HU that sounded the best to my ears. set the sub to max on my HU, then set my gain on my amp accordingly.

to me bass all the way up is to sloppy on my unit. goes to show we all like different sounds, unless urs is different.

I did not set my sub to max. It probably would sound sloppy then. However, at the normal setting of 0 on my HU, my bass was almost non-existant. I think i have it on 2 or 3 out of a possible 7 and it sounds great.
