RF amps losing value?

I've been looking at RF amps, particularly the T10001BD, and noticed that retail is insanely high and store prices are lower, and slightly used prices are super low! This is compared to Kicker, Audiobahn, etc... Do the RF amps lose value faster than others for a reason or am I completely wrong?

Thanks

RF amps are made really cheap now.i have an old skool 200.2 and it's more powerful than any new 600.2

i think fosgate has pyramid make thier amps now
:speechless: and that doesnt happen much //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

you ARE kidding, right? RF amps (at least the power series) are still entirely made in the usa... as far as your "old skool" 200.2 being more powerful than any 600.2, i highly doubt that, but id have to see birthsheets before i argued on that....

older fosgate amps for sure are better quality...i perfer the 810s to the 1500bd.....but even though they arent what thety used to be, they're still good stuff....

Ok, I got a little scared when I saw the drop in prices. Glad RF is still going strong, I've always liked them.

I did a little more searching for similar amps at similar retailers and now I feel dumb... prices are the same.

Thanks guys

Oy vey , prices tend to drop on used rf's due to the market being freaking flooded with them //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I think used RF prices suffer because Fosgate saturates the market with new product too much.

Sure its great for them to sell 10x the number of amps as say Zapco, but that also means theres 10x the number of used RF amps out there to be sold, which is why used amps from a company like Zapco hold their value.

The lesson in this?

If you want an RF amp, buy used and laugh at your savings compared to buying a new one.

X2. Pretty much sound advice for any fairly recent amp. Keep in mind however, that you'll most likely not have warranty protection when going this route. You *might* have some mind you, but don't bank on it.

Counterpoint, exactly.

Buy used get no warranty.

Buyer Beware.

or just buy a zapco //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

If most of the Car Audio population thought that then Zapco would be #1...but it isn't the case.

RF has a lot over Zapco that puts RF in the #1 spot.
