rewinding alternator

i think both have an 8 groove pulley IIRC but i would have to chech the book. get a local shop to sell you one outright no core so keep your old one as a backup and get a smaller pulley on it you may need a short belt. people blab on that the tensioner will take the slack but sometimes you gotta go one size down. dont pay more than 200-225 with a custom regulator. the motocraft one is the best they should be able to put huge diodes in it.

yea so my best bet u r saying is to get my stock one made bigger since motorcraft is the best

That's funny that you're name is Eugenics, and you have a Jewish star of david as your avatar. Further proof that there is a Jewish conspiracy out to kill all non-Jews and rule the world, as stated in the Protocols of Zion.
You related to Henry Kissinger?
There are no coincidences.

I wouldn't pay anymore than $150 for a re-wound. My new 200amp was $235 shipped (DB Electrical on Ebay = no problems at all with it in about 8 months so far).

I like having an actual H/O. if something happens to it, i can swap in my stock one that i still have. If you only have ONE alt, you'll be going up to Autozone spending $65 on a new one if it dies prematurely.

if you want to do it on the cheap yep just get the local place to sell you one that is wound bigger. It wont be as strong as custom case or like a firetruck one that can produce 300 amps at idle. but the case that your truck has can fit windings that can make about 70-90 at idle and 180-200 ant good speed. that is fine for what you are running. I did have a bad time with DBelectrical it did not produce rated not even close. "200" amp produced about 150 on the test panel and 45-50 at idle speed it was better than stock but they lied about output so they can eat a dick. If you do get one it is nice to keep the old one as a backup

I wouldnt get one rewound, it may produce even less amperage at idle, the extra amperage you gain will be above 2K rpm or so which most people dont run into problems cruising the highways anyways, just parked or at a stoplight, get a good HO alt, mechman says most of his hold 150amp at IDLE

ok thanks for the help guys yea i was looking at db electrical but i read a few people saying it didnt do the right power

and no i am not 17 and no my mom and dad didnt buy my truck or system, and yes i have one look at the detailing thread i have
