Review My Setup (Please)

i'm sure you'll be happy with the setup for know, at least thats the impression i get from youre description of listening tastes. however, just keep in mind that you have a good way to go on upgrading you're box. Whenever you get around to it, then i think you're system will really come to life.

But you really do have a very solid system so far that should last you a long time, so long as you don't get addicted like me and buy a new sub every other day //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif haha

Finally someone who understands haha. Thanks man. I also hope I dont fall in to that category. Being a computer nerd costs enough as it is (not to mention a family :p ).

What kind of power upgrades you doing . i read to page 3 didnot see any . brz 2400 1 run of 4 guage wire . are you going to be running @ 4 ohms?

i can put together a few setups that would cost half of that and play loud and clear . havnt read past page 3 what are you set on thus far?

I got 2 12" TNT 1244 (American Bass Subs) and a VFL 100.1.

So west, just to clarify, If I were to turn it all the way down then it would be drawing close to zero power, and as I turn it towards max, it will start drawing more power, possibly to the point of lights dimming?

And I haven't got that far with the research, too lazy to look now but If I remember correctly the subs are 4 ohm DVC, I would wire them each to be 2 ohms most likely, but Im not sure if I would wire it down to 1 ohm, as a result of the amp.

Feel free to tell me otherwise what my best choice is with this setup, anyone.

Looks like the amp is 1 ohm stable so maybe I would end up running it all a 1 ohm.

Well my car's lights dim when I approach 500w power draw. So potentially, it depends on your electrical.

you can only go 4 or 1 ohm . , how good your setup is installed and your stock power can supply will play a big part . a volt meter will tell you alot . and a dmm can tell you some also but voltage driving , idle andcar off are all differtnt . usually car reach there limits around 1k watts but all care are differrent maybe you have a stock 160 amp alt and a nice size stock battery . dimming light can only tell you so much.

I concur, typically 1k seems to be the breaking point (for many vehicles) to do more electrical upgrades beyond the big 3.

Well the alt was replaced not too long ago, I'm waiting on the paperwork from the lady I bought it from and hopefully that will tell me what kind of alt it is. What 3 things are done in order of importance to improve the system? Alternator > Battery > ?

Depends if the system needs improving. how much voltage is lost and where its coming from. . if you amp and car cant handle it most can't or won't. a 16 +volt setup

voltage booster, a bigger alt 2nd alt . ther's lots of choices you have to get a baseline of where you are 1st .
