Nobody ever really reads past the first page... you need to catch their attention and give as much detail on the one page.

It's clearly legible to anyone I've given it too, so it works for me.

and salary can be a bummer.....unless you are paid overtime and its not built-in. For instance when i was a manager at wal-mart, they put you on salary but it was figured for a 55 hour week...and you didn't get overtime til you past the 55 hours. I'm much happier at my hourly job.

Sounds like a way of just making payroll easier...

I'm in that wacky situation. I'm non exempt but get paid a base salary for anything up to 40 hours, then OT for anything over. Its an odd setup for sure.

For the resume I used the basic MS word format and think it looks good. I'm 29 and my resume is still at 1 page, that might be because I've been at the same company since I was 19 or 20 though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I suppose it allows for some to cheat the system, but that also leaves work for those that want to catch some OT for some extra dough.

I agree, its a dumb scenario for paying employees.

I once heard, you shouldn't list anything under a 3.0GPA as well. If you have a 3.0 or higher list it, if not don't.

I heard 3.5, but I have 3.86 currently so its no big deal

I have all but completed my Computer Information Systems degree.

I had planned on staying an extra year to get 2 business degrees ( marketing and management ) but since this opportunity has arose I'm not sure what to do

With offshoring like it is, I'd find a way to add those 2 degrees. Every little bit helps to prove you can do a job better than a dood in India, or get into a job that isn't offshorable.
