one more thing I forgot to mention about the Mach 5's..

the coils on these drivers dcr pretty low... 2.3 ohm per coil... I'd call it a nominal dual 2 ohm driver myself, at the very least a 3 ohm nominal unit..

actual impedence during testing was quite low... barely over 1 ohm actual.. for 2 dual 4 ohm nominal drivers in parallel, I'd expect to see an actual impedence out of the impedence spike area, of low to mid 2 ohm range..

so pick your amplifiers accordingly.. I will say we tested a single 12 on an amp rated for 4 ohm mono.. and didn't hit protection... so may be fine in some alignments.. I'll know more in future testing...

on the mach 5 audio site, they are listed as a dual 4 ohm nominal driver..

as I told Mark.. I feel the dcr, coupled with actual impedence I saw in testing, is simply too low to call them a 4 ohm nominal driver, as used in the car audio world..

most 4 ohm drivers dcr between 3 and 4 ohms... these dcr'd at 2.3 ohm per coil

absolutely does nothing to hinder the driver in any way, shape, or form... I just want people to know, as it can affect amplifier choices..

Yeeesssss! The first time Loyd played that song for me I had the same reaction that everyone else does in the begining - "ooookkk, this really isn't that great" and then once the little bass beats were over and the real bass began I thought the world was going to come to an end inside that little Aveo. That song can kill a small animal inside Loyd's car.
