Resonant Frequency?

Trial and error. Even two vehicles of the same model can peak a little differently. Most people just keep tuning higher until they stop gaining. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

And then once you find what frequency that is, get a high efficiency 18" pro sound driver, stick it in a box tuned to that frequency, throw 25 watts at it, and drive around listening to only that frequency.

lulz

Doesn't anyone listen to music anymore?

1st you need a termlab.....then take a sub, like a 10" sub in a 1cuft sealed enclosure and run a sweep....should give you 2 peaks...for example when testing mine I had a 40hz and 53 hz peak. from testing with ported enclosures in my vehicle i tune them about 4-5hz below resonant frequency, so for my 40hz peak i have an enclosure tuned to 35-36hz for daily and another tuned around 48hz for comp ...all vehicles are different tho..i've seen some have 10+hz jump from tuning frequency.

but yeah lots and lots of testing to know your vehicle and how it reacts to different variables...i.e. port length, port area.....box and port positioning...box size...power..etc...test, test, test //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

Doesn't anyone listen to music anymore?

We were just driving around like Thelma and Louise, jammin' to some Bangles...remember?

Seriosuly though, I just finished EQing again after getting my sub to "blend nicely" with everything...took a look...twas moving around 1/4-1/2".

I peak almost 10hz above where I tune, and although I understand wanting to be able to play music, understanding your resonant frequency can help you understand what is going on in your car...Its usually the frequency that sounds like an earthquake and makes every bolt in your car rattle...That has seemed to be the one common thing I have found, when i hear the sound of bolts getting butt fucced, im close.. lol
