Resonant freq in car

How can you find the resonant frequency inside a particular car? Or is there even a way to know for sure?

Also, how many db's do you increase typicaly at this frequency?

get a sealed box, burp notes in sucession, find which is loudest to the mic, thats your res freq

An easier way is to get a sine sweep track on a CD and have it go from 20-20k in...say 30 sec. Then time when a rattle appears to find the freq.

.... rattles don't = the resonant freq of the car... usually just part of the car...

When something starts rattling, that means you've found the res freq of that panel, but not of the vehicle.

You would have to do that outside in an open space aswell, then compare the relative output levels of each (in car and out of car)....the frequency with the greatest difference would be the res freq of the car.

You need to isolate the frequency response of the box itself from the in-car frequency response.
