Replacing my existing speakers?

I currently have:

Front Doors: Boston Acoustics SX65

Rear Doors: JL TR600 CXI

Is there anything I can do to make this sound better?

If you suggest an amplifying it any suggestions on a make and model?

Or possible replacements for what I currently have?

You can maybe get some improvement by going active or using a secondary amplifier.

Are you running a replacement HU or stock?

Also, how much are you looking to spend?

ok i currently am running a Premier DEH-P680MP

i also have subs in my trunk that are 2 10w0's running off a 250/1... but anyhow

i also drive an SUV so selling the rear "fill" would be a bad idea IMO

looking to spend maybe 600$ max.

whats does go active mean? (sorry i'm not too car audio savvy yet...)

Active means you run an amp for each speaker. Like one two channel amp for tweeters one amp for mids. This uses electronic signal processing (either in the HU or in a electronic outboard crossover) for the crossover instead using of the passive ones that component a lot of times come with.

I'd just get an amp for the front and rears then. A Kicker ZX650.4 will provide more than enough power for what you currently have. Also give you some overhead for any possible future upgrades.

True. And Pioneer clearly states in the Owner's Manual that you can get the 4x22w rms... but at 5% THD. And external amp would eliminate that problem.

Indeed... My brother runs a 880 with a Pioneer amp on his stock speakers in his IS and WOW... Sounds amazing...

ok, so u recommend the kicker amp? any reason that one in particular over any other brands?

It's build like a brick sh!thouse and will do more than rated power. For the money ocs.com is asking, it's one heck of a deal.
