Replacing (2) Audiobahn Immortals For 1 Better Sounding Sub

HEY ALL I NEED SOME HELP, I CURRENTLY HAVE (2) 12" AUDIOBAHN IMMORTAL SUBS IN THE BACK OF MY VETTE FOR SIZE AND WEIGHT ISSUES I WANT TO GO WITH A SINGLE 12 THAT WILL SOUND INSANE IN A 1CU SEALED BOX, I KNOW IT'S A SMALL BOX BUT I WANT IT TO FIT FLUSH IN MY CENTER SECTION. I CAN PUSH ABOUT 1600 WATTS rms TO THE SUBS AT 2 OHMS. IF YOU COULD HELP I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE IT.

I'M MAINLY CONCERNED WITH SQ, SPL IS SECONDARY. I LISTEN TO ROCK/DEATH METAL/ RAP.

IF YOU COULD POST SOME LINKS FROM WHERE TO BUY ALONG WITH YOUR SUGGESTION IT WOULD BE AWESOME, THANKS AGAIN.

Also, look into the W7 and W6v2 series from JL Audio (http://www.jlaudio.com)

All of those subs (except maybe the W7) should work very well in a 1cuft box, and all of them can handle some good power (though 1600w may be too much for some of them, you can always just gain down the amp).

Also, look into subs from Treo, Atomic and Incriminator Audio

Hes got a Vette. he has to go JL. Just cuz ppl know what JL is, and know its exspensive. I asked a guy if he would sell RE ever. He says "I hate working with RE products". I dunno but i love my SX. a XXX would look sweet in a Vette. But 1 cu/ft box aint big enough. Plus the XXX weighs like 70 pounds.

Ive never noticed how big a corvette was until i had a 04' over at my house last weekend. They are a very powerful machine.

i don't mind 70lbs + box my current setup with a custom fiberglass/mdf box and 2 immortal subs weighs in at just a tad over 152 lbs. its a beast to take in and out to go racing. i wastn't to impressed with the jl subs the jl w7 is awesome but not really worth retail. i can always put the gain down i don't need to run all 1600 watts.

i can push the box to about 1.25 cf not much more

if i go with 8's i can get a 3.5cf box, either sealed or ported

if i go with 2 10's or 1 12 i think that 1.25 cf is the max

The IDMax is like 30 lbs ... Very light for a super-sub ...

that would be my choice for sure

i have a 15" Brahma MK1 in a 1.25^3 sealed with 1500 watts goin to it sq sounds dammmn good to me i know u said 12 but thats just for referance im sure the 12 would do fine in the same enclosure i can't really say anything elze cuz i dont have much experiance with other subs
