Replacement Tinsel Leads

What do you use when you need to replace tinsels? I've tried speaker wire and desoldering braid, and it all usually breaks in a few days.

I have purchased lead from RE in the past. . .

i'm curious 2 know where as well....but when u get them do u solder them to the old tisel leads?

Yes, otherwise you'd have to tear the whole cone assembly apart, which unless you've disassembled alot of speakers, would most likely me re-cone.

I removed the dust cap

removed the old leads

soldered the new leads to the VC wires

used epoxy to hold the connection in place on the cone and seal the hole

solder the other end of the lead to the binding post.

test the woofer

replce the dust cap

Be careful when you solder. The leads will wick up quickly with solder and become stiff. . .
