Kicker CVR or Alpine type-r?

Hey guys, I'm getting a new setup soon and just wondering which sub would be a better choice, I listen to rap/rock/techno and would rather have SPL over SQ in this case, I know both subs get loud but I wanna know which one gets louder? thanks, by the way whichever I choose will be a 15" if you need to know

type r for sure (no pun intended)

will get louder (on average) than a CVR in the right box.

If I decided to go with a CVR, Since that's closer in my price range, what would be a good amp to push it with? not like wattage only, but a good brand/wattage //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif, I have 250$ or less to shell out on the amp

You can get the type R's for cheap on ebay, maybe not a cheap as a CVR but still pretty cheap.

i went to finestdeals on ebay, the type-r is 189 for a 15" cvr is like 69

Well im not 100% positive but I know most of those stores show reallllly cheap prices for the subs and then you look at the shipping and its 40-50+ dollars...

Oh by the way, the Type R is louder. I've had them both. But the CVRs are more spl/$.

the cvr in 5.6cuft sloted boxs would get just as loud as the type r and would also use a orion,viper,directed 1200 amp by the 4ohm dvc and run your amp at 2ohms 800 to 900 watts and be sure to be easy on the gain great bass and save some money go cvr 15

Oh yeah, I was talking about in a small sealed Q Logic box, only experience I've had with them. And they were 12s.

id go for the Type r if ur goin to put 800-900w on it, i had 2 15in CVRs and i dont think one of those could handle that power let alone a ported box on top a that.

type r is 2x the price of cvr

and prolly 2x as good

if you waste your money on a CVR youre gonna get what you pay for. If you want a low cost sub that uses as little power go with a memphis power reference. They own CVR anyone that thinks otherwise I will gladly put my car up against thiers, and only require 250-300 watts per sub. I got my PRs for $120 shipped for a pair.

Type R 2 x $ >CVR

Type R 3 X as good SPL and SQ >CVR
