Repairing midrange speakers?

Just found my old Clarion SRS 1691 mids and both have splits in 'em. Any way to fix them, the splits run from the center out about an inch long.Could I glue them or would that affect sound quality? What about reconing them, is that an option?

Try clear finger nail polish on both sides of the "splits". That's what I was told, and use, years ago. Light enough not to mess with the speaker, but strong enough to stay bonded. Got pics?

I could recone them.. probably no one else could..

But for the price with shipping you might as well buy new speakers...

Amazing Goop glue works well for speaker repairs. If it's a split cone a little fiberglass resin may do as well. Adding mass will possibly change parameters though. Mids can be reconed IF you can find the parts.... a big if....and as has been said the cost/time/shipping is probably not worth it.
