curious if anyone knew a place to get a head unit repaired. I have a pioneer avh-p4000dvd hu that recently when playing cds it either stops reading them or skipping after about 20-25 mins of playing....tried cleaning products etc n nothing changed.

i have a local guy that usually charges around $90 to fix them
website for this guy or no?

there's a company in south florida that handles pioneer n their site says 95 so may contact them n make sure.

definitely not spending 200 bucks for repair....

i assume you're the one who contacted me?

as we discussed, the investment for a new optical pickup isn't trivial.

my neighbor picked up an AVIC D2 in a salvage yard for $25. look around, those DD Pioneer decks are plentiful and cheap.

someone who doesn't want CD's may be interested. those buyers are growing in numbers. maybe toss in an ipod cable.

Oem cables are readily available for most vehicles. Check rockauto. Anything less will be a future headache.

I was tempted to send an offer, but felt the 100 was fair for it since it was like new still. You still did good on it though.
