Removing motor from TC9 flatcone ED

I have an ED flatcone that has a broken spoke on the basket, and i am trying to sell it. The sub still works, but i am wondering if it would be easier to just sell the motor. I have heard the TC9 is worth a good amount just on its own. Could i remove the motor so it is easier to ship?

Thanks,

brian

Im noing to say you should do this but:

Take a razor blade and cut all the way around the surround (rubber part on the front).

Then cut all the way around the spider (yellow/black normally, like ribbed cloth)

Snip the tensile leads (they go from the inputso n the speaker to the middle of the speaker).

The cone and spider and coil should now just come out

There is usaually 4-8 scrws or bolts holding the basket and motor assembly togather. Usually hex head sometimes star and even block head.

Remove them all and the basket should just lof off of the motor. if not and you are sure all bolts holding the two togather are removed you may need to GENTLY pry them apart.

You now have a TC9 motor, a usles cone assembly and a broken basket //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Yea,probably can be done but some people may rather buy the whole thing
Yeah, thats what i thought. However, there hasn't been a ton of interest in the for sale section for it.

CB, thanks, i didn't know it was that involved! I wish i knew what to do with this thing.

it's not brain surgery.

rip out the cone/suspension and it will reveal screws/bolts. Take them out, usually the motor is glued to the basket so it might take some hammering and a chisel (be carefull) but it's really not hard at all.

its not THAT involved...its jsut a matter of cutting the two parts of the suspension and snipping some leads then taking some bolts out. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

if i had $95 to drop i would, but i need to finsih my enclosure and buy some damplifier and some spectrum and pay Flakko and pay for gas to fernindina and pay the entry fee on march 19th...

Dont tear it apart, you're not going to fetch much more than that for just a TC9 motor (probably less) if they jsut want hte TC9 motor, and are going to pay the same for it either way, why was te your itme tearing it apart. If yo ustill have it in 2mo ill take it off your hands //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Yeah the flatcone is great, but it would be pretty sweet with MT softparts.

CB, don't make me wait 2 months! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
