I will soon be getting an amp for my front stage. I want the amp to turn on when i turn on my HU, the HU is stock, how would i go about wiring the remote wire?

Depends a lot on the car, you may need to use a relay through the fuse box.

There are aftermarket gizzmos you can buy that sense when your HU is on and output a normal remote. I think David Nivone makes one..

if you have a power antenna, you could wire it to that too.

Helped a fellow member here install an amp and subs, hooked it to a hot wire at the fuse box. Worked fine, but when you turned the car off...the key wouldnt come out of the ignition. Crazy stuff. With a '02 camery you may have the same problem like that. Not sure. Options, Ignition, cigerette liter, relay switch, power antenna.

I have a funny problem like that in my car. The stock cigerette lighter 12volt line is dead for some reason (bought the car like that, thinking the first owner had the dealer cut it for safety). I use that for cigerettes if I can't find my lighter and my PnP Sirius unit, so it NEEDS power. I spliced it into a wire that is in the harness of my emergency flasher button (only thing on the other side of the harness) so that it can have 12v constant, but when I turn on my bright lights, it kills that wire. I still have no friggen clue why that would happen (especially wtf that wire would be used for!)

Not always, many times the antenna only goes up once the radio is turned on...

wire it to a constant and put a switch in and flip it when u get in the car
