Remote turn on wire location

First time using a line-output converter for a subwoofer on a factory head unit. Might be a dumb question, but is tapping into the radio's power and ground wire wise? or should I try for an ignition-reliant 12v outlet instead?

Which loc are you using? Most new ones are automatically turning on and have an rem out to use. If not, use the car’s ACC that turns on with the key. If you experience “thumps,“ you may need a replay to isolate the 12v source.
