Remote gain/bass knob

Amp is Soundstream Rubicon 1600w. I'm wondering if it's actually changing the gain or if it's using bass boost.

well you could look HERE , but it isn't much help it looks like it would do gain but you will need to testing /// fist just set ur gain where you want it and plug in the knob (turned all the way down) , if it gets quieter viola' its a gain knob , but if no change and you turn dial up and sub get louder (but more distorted) then it is a remote bass boost knob ////the second method is as follows using a DMM and a 50 hrtz test tone play the tone get voltage reading (ac voltage) then turn knob up and down to see if voltage changes if it goes down then it is adjusting gain , if it only goes up then just bass boost

Thank you. I've read specs and what-not saying that it's "remote gain" but I feel the need to verify because I don't want to harm any of my equipment.

And IF it is in fact gain, does turning the knob to the maximum set it to where you have the gain set on the amp, or is it setting it to max gain? I'd guess that it's to where you have the gain set.

Remote gain knobs provide attenuation only, they are fine to use but can cause issues when the connector is loose.

Remote bass boost knobs are less useful and have the same issues.
