the Catholic church is funny. Even thought it's weird how they conduct business, you gotta admit, they're hard! lol think about it. they're the only powerful political institution today that does not hold any type of democratic decision making, and the US doesn't say diddly squat about it. Seeing as they do have one of the largest unified political communities, even though theyre just a religion, any time you have over a billion people listening to one guy, there isn't much you can do. it's no different than a modern day oligarchy/aristocracy depending on how you want to look at it, but whenever I hear anything about the vatican I'm just reminded of the godfater 3..

thats a interesting way to look at them, i have always seen them as truely the worlds largest/richest company. god knows how much money the catholic church makes...sorta scary what if one day the pope just said all catholics must come to rome and then start taking over countries...i wonder how many people would do that,

Christ comes fromt the greek Christos which just means "annointed one".. It's not a name. Anybody can be anointed.

The savior's TRUE name is Yahoshua/Yahshua...and the father's name is Yahwah..

No telling who your calling on when you say Jesus....Jesus is correctly pronounced HAY-ZEUS...and comes from the Greek name IESOUS, pronounced EE-AY-ZEUS

Remember the scripture yall, SATAN DECEIVED THE WHOLE WORLD. Part of that deception is the Father's name (Yahwah) being taken out of the old testament THOUSANDS of times and replaced with the word "lord", which is nothing but a title, NOT A NAME... And then in the New Testament they put the name "Jesus" in instead of Yahoshua/Yahshua...and Jesus/Jezeus IS NOT the savior's name.

Also remember scripture states, THERE IS ONLY ONE NAME UNDER HEAVEN WHICH MEN MUST BE SAVED BY... and that name is Yahoshua.

The name Jezeus/Jesus wasn't in any bibles until the 1600's...

I read Hebrew...there is no "J'' in hebrew...and I've seen the greek alphabet, and there is no "J" in the greek...AND the letter "J" didn't exist in the english until the very late 1500's or early 1600's... So this Jesus/Jezeus name is only 400 years old, while the bible is WAY older than that.

And to the other brotha, YES, religion is man made GARBAGE. Yahwah, nor Yahoshua gave man ANY religion ...only commandments to abide by...

but yea... seems ironic that "christian" was a word meant for mockery. Thats why the pastor of my church dusnt like to call us christians, (he likes followers of christ)

I know I dont post here much, and no one really knows me, but i thought i would contribute to this thread.

Like my beliefs or not, I am a "mormon." I will say that I do know a few weird ones, but most of us are normal people. Everyone stereotypes us, but how much of it is really true?? No one wants to know the facts about our church, and just listen to all the nonsense that people say. If you all think "mormons" are weird, what is your problem with us. What do we do that makes you mad at us?? Just wondering.

You seem to be the smart one. So can you please teach your fellow brethrens how to read? There is a BIG sign on my door that says NO SOLICITING! But that doesn't stop them from knocking and trying to 'spread his word'. I do not care to listen to it. I don't attend any churches of any kind.

Wussup bro. Thats cool that you are a Mormon, but do you also consider yourself a Christian? If you do consider yourself a Christian, and do believe in the Bible, please read Rev. 22:18. Mormons also have the "Book of Mormon" which completely goes against what the Bible teaches and is in fact very much contradicting to the Word of God. I have studied Mormonism and it is not Christianity at all, but I guess that is just how I see it.

I do call myself a Christian, I dont care if it means that I am stupid or not. I believe that true wisdom comes from knowing God personally, therefore I could careless what others think because in God's eyes I am wise. And if you do want to call me an idiot, I will agree, because compared to the wisdom of God, I am.

Wow, I was just reading that article about the 112th pope thing, and started thinking a little. I mean, they got the name right, but then again the Pope may have chosen that name because of the prophecy--and then it said he was black and I was like wtf, lol.

And to ghettoboy, I don't think you understand exactly what the Pope's job is. I believe, according to theology, that every new Pope is the successor to Peter. Therefore, Benedict XVI is not taking the role of JPII, but the role of Peter. The Pope is believed to be infallable. Just as Jesus was both human and divine, so is the Church. Therefore, the Pope is a necessary leader of the Church. Think of it more as whenever you go to class. When you are in school, everyone in the class does not lecture each other, do they? That would cause chaos. Rather, there is a teacher whose sole purpose is to guide the students.
