i wouldn't necessarily call the pope the anti-Christ, but I am sort of skeptical to the Catholic teachings....Catholocism teaches the whatever the church says, or the head of the church, which could be the pope, has the same amount of significane as what the Bible teaches or what God says, therefore, popes are basically putting themselves right next to God. The Bible says that we are but filthy rags, but I guess the pope isn't... I don't see how a man who claims to be a Chrstian and follow the teachings of the Bible could put the Church and God on the same level. Or what most people would call the church. Actually, in the Bible, the "Church" is the body of believers, aka the Body of Christ. There is hardly anywhere in the Bible writings about a physical church building.

And on the Mormons, they do have some weird beliefs. I was talking to this Mormon guy one time, and he was pointing out some scripture to me, I think it was in Isaiah or something. It was something about a guy getting a scrole and saying he couldn't read it. Because of this verse, they have their own prophet or something like that? And they have the Book of Mormon, yet they consider themselves Christians. Here is an interesting verse for differenty type of so-called Chrstians that go by other writing than the Bible:

"I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds anything to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book. And if anyone takes words away from this book of prophecy, God will take away from him his share in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are described in this book." Revelation 22:18-19

Don't Catholics have some other writings other than the Bible that they live by, or hold equal to the Bible?

Sorry I missed out on the first religion thread but I will go ahead and try to contribute to this one.
In my oppinion, If there ever is an Antichrist it will be the Pope. Think about it. A man that puts himself between man and God, He will have a great following and will claim to have performed great miricals, then he will claim to be Christ. It may not be this Pope nor the next one but it will be a Pope for sure IMO.

never thought of it that way, sounds kinda right but man thas a earie thought. im not an acting chirstian but in teh reliogions ive looked into there r some really god teachings i think alot fo people should read. could help alot of people out IMO

well they DO worship or hold extremely highly (God Level) the virgin mary, and a some saints. and god said not to hold other gods before him. So... eh iono

When I say "the Pope" I dont mean the present Pope B16. I mean the position of the Pope. Who knows it could be another 100 Popes away or it could be the next Pope.

One of the Ten Commandments states: Thou shalt not have any idols before me.

But an idol isn't necessarily some other God or some statue or carving or whatever that you worship. There are many different things in your life that can be idols, such as money, fame, sports, job, ...car audio..haha

the Catholic church is funny. Even thought it's weird how they conduct business, you gotta admit, they're hard! lol think about it. they're the only powerful political institution today that does not hold any type of democratic decision making, and the US doesn't say diddly squat about it. Seeing as they do have one of the largest unified political communities, even though theyre just a religion, any time you have over a billion people listening to one guy, there isn't much you can do. it's no different than a modern day oligarchy/aristocracy depending on how you want to look at it, but whenever I hear anything about the vatican I'm just reminded of the godfater 3..

Yup. He will be the pope when "the terrible judge will judge the people" (i.e. God returns to earth for judgment day); per the prophecy of Saint Malachy O'Morgair.

Besides if Jesus showed up he would sell out to Gatorade and Nike in a heartbeat.. Centex would build him a free house, lexus would spot him a car and the Sequoia National Forest would donate 2 sticks for his next crucifiction.. .. However I am going to donate scews this time, so he doesn't come back a 3rd time..
