Diehard Gold, Diehard Weatherhandler and Optima Redtop have the longest life span by a huge factor when compared to other batteries. This is NOT indicative of their reserve capacity, but a measure of how long a typical battery will last before permanently dying.
Duralast Gold (South), which is what I use, has the highest reserve capacity of any battery on the market *except* the Optimas, with the highest cranking amps period (at 900), but it costs about half as much. The size 35 version of the Duralast Gold (which I have the misfortune of requiring for my car) also happens to have the shortest overall life expectancy.
Quick summary: If all you care about are price and playing time with the ignition off, get the Duralast Gold South. If you aren't concerned about price and want the battery to last, get an Optima Red/Yellow-Top. There are no better auto batteries on the market and this has been proven through repeated testing.
