I have a red top lightning audio battery.......... it lasted just as long as my stock battery wehn it came to powereing my system but it has lasted longer.... getting a better battery is mostly for the discharge rate becasue as it was explained to me a deep cycle battery has no memory so it can be all the way discharged over and over........ a regular acid battery will get damaged evertime it is discharged all the way.... the bad thing about having a yellow top in front with a h.o. alternator is that it can over charege the battery and damge it I had this happen in my acura my battery light came on so i turned the volume up (i was hitting high rpms) ..... and u should justy get a new alt and dont think that will solve all your problems if u dont regrond your alt and increases all the neccacary wires u wont notice the increse even 200a alternators only put out 100-130 at idle u usally haver to hit around 3000-4000 rpm to get the full 200 amps have u ever heard 1000 watts its hella loud... i would dare any of u to drive around all day with a jbl 1200.1 at full power with a 4 channel amp if u did not only would your ears hurt but your battery would go dead (well if u stayed at idle) so a battery does help because it stores power from the times that u were hitting 3000-4000 rpm so basically u need a new h.o.alt. Rewound alts blow easier and a new battery........ and u need to reground your engine and battery and increase your alt power wire somtimes your battery might now be grounded enough to handel the new activity (like my acura)
