Red Top resting voltage question

I have a Red Top battery that is in my Tacoma.

I searched and saw a thread about resting voltage and most batteries rest at approx. 12.5.

I used my DMM last night just to see and get a resting voltage of 11.7.

Does this reading in any way mean that the battery is going to be due for replacement or do they sometimes drop below 12.5?

I will add that I bought this battery new in 04. I dont drive my truck much and if I wait longer than a few days it sometimes cranks slow but always starts.

Once I let it run it charges and cranks over normally.

Charge your battery and see if it holds a charge?

Forgot to add I have done the big 3 and am running a Sundown SAE-1200D into 2 RE SE's and my front stage is a RF 160.4 bridged.

my guess is batt is almost done optimas arent too reliable ive learned my old red top all of a suddden kept losing charge from sittting too long i woulnt drive for a week and it would die it was only like 4 months old. my new one is ok havent had any problems yet.

you really need to load test it and not rely on resting voltage

No I didnt remove.

How would that make a difference whether it was removed or not?

Does it have to do with what is connected to the battery posts while its resting?
