if your just gonna be running a factory alt, and a kinetik hc 800 under the hood, would it be beneficial to run 2 1/0 power runs to the back batts, or would 1 run be enough to carry the current needed to charge the back bank

How much power are you running?

More runs are always better... I have 4 runs of 2/0 for 2k. Its way overboard but i had it laying around so why not throw it in

im sadly still running the factory alt, wit hc800 up front and 2 hc 2400s in the back on a soundstream xxx10000d at 1 ohm

Yea you will definetly want a dedicated ground. You really shoudl run 2 pos, 2 neg at minimum for that amp. And you prolly need more batteries as well. Rule of thumb is 1 group 31 for 2k.

ight thnks man, i gots it grounded in the rear as well and a ground run from the front to back, with the 2 hc2400s ill have two more group 31 batts, appreciate it man

with all that power and a stock alt, i would at least knock out the big 3 til u upgrade that alt and yes, for all of that power a good ground is much needed. nice, clean and scraped bare metal! to the frame of the car
