why feel bad? yes he does great work, but in this instance, IMO, its not great...I feel bad now because I know SPL does good work. Not trying to make the guy look bad. I think this was just a set of circumstances and he is optimistic about it, and for good reason. He knows how the customer intends to use it.
It doesn't sound like you've done too much speaker building.on another note, i never understood why drop in recones never came with the cone unattached... its MUCH easier to assemble that way... simply drop the coil with spider. let that glue and set up. lay your bead on the former for the cone and lay a bead on the basket. drop the cone and viola. cone is set down nice without any sort of gap.
If you have the gap alighed properly and it's glued properly you'll never know the difference.So this isn't right?
With what you're doing you'll never notice the difference.It won't effect spl and sq?
