Reconing Failure? Pics & Vids. Need some feedback.

I use index cards on my SHW's with their 4" coils. No issues at all. I have found that on some 3" coils that index cards can be a pain in the *** to work with so I cut them down a bit.

If I remember right, this is indeed a 3" coil. When I initially put the index cards in, right on the seam of the former is where you could feel a "catching" between the former and the motor. You could pull the cards out, and there would be a "folded over bend" on the very edge of the cards where the seam is.

The cone is an authentic XXX, not an Fi cone.

It's going out this morning fully intact so I can get a report on what went wrong. This way if I need to do it again, I can be sure not make the same mistke.

I used manila folders on my 2 recones, didnt have a problem with coil alignment. Whats it sound like, I dont have sound on this terminal so I was unable to here the video.

I use thin sheets of paper for coil alignment myself -- have not yet had one turn out bad when I used the right sized parts (woops, wrong ID coil pwnt).

Indeed... I put one together without gluing that top joint from the top in addition to the glue from the back once. While it did work for a little while, the triple joint broke under stress.

Its because your a beast and hard on equipment

did you use it yet? ive seen coils rub when pushed but silent when played.

I use printer paper, cut down.

I use as many sheets of paper as needed... so it's so tight that it can barely move at all...

Even spacing, everytime, and I've done dozens of recones...
