Reconing Failure? Pics & Vids. Need some feedback.

The recone asthetically came out perfet. It looks like a brand new sub from the outside, but once I removed the shims and pressed down on the cone, the scratch of death can be heard.

The spider and surround set perfect where they are supposed to sit. If you look at the pic of just the coil and motor, it almost looks like something is off on the top left side gap. But, if you push up on the cone from underneath, it doesn't really do it.

I'm fvcking pissed about right now.

what did you use for shims, they should have been really tight to keep this from happening

I used 4 index cards. It was pretty stiff, but still slightly movable.

are you sure one of the index cards you used didnt have a slighty, unnoticable, crease in it? (crazy thought but I was just asking...) play a very low Hz tone and see if it rubs....

I just watched the vid, why dont u try pushing down on the former ( thing the coil is on ) since that is where it moves, my pusing in those random spots your not showing anything...

x2, connect it to power and free-air it, if you push it down out of square you can cause the coil to rub

When I reconed my BTL I tried moving it a little the next day to make sure it wasnt rubbing, but the spider was soo stiff I couldnt get it to move without going out of square so it would rub a little if I tried to move it too far.
