What happened was 3 of the holes in the basket were not drilled all the way through, so I had to drill them out myself. Did not make new holes, just drilled the existing ones all the way through.Um..dude there's already holes in the basket.
Take the gasket off
Flip it over
The edge of the surround is designed so you poke holes through the holes that are in the frame...
1/4" drill bit and 2 seconds for each hole...and your done.
I hope you did not drill 8 more holes through your basket..because if you did odds are it is going to crack. You should not be drilling on any metal.

The motor is probably different (normally) going from a 12 to an 18 though...

They are all tooled on the same die...they all have 8 holes in them. It is impossible for them to not have a hole in it.What happened was 3 of the holes in the basket were not drilled all the way through, so I had to drill them out myself. I'm not sure what to tell you, I did post a picture of what I am talking about in the original post. 3 of the holes were not drilled all the way through, and I know there are 8 pre-drilled holes in the basket itself, regardless of the rubber gasket. 3 of those holes were completely blocked off in the middle by metal. They are all tooled on the same die...they all have 8 holes in them. It is impossible for them to not have a hole in it.
This is why I said take the gasket off and look on the back side.
There may be a little bit of glue on the holes...you do not have to drill aluminum.
The gasket just isn't lined up...
