Reconed RE XXX has metal blocking some of the mounting holes? huh?

I got my reconed RE XXX back to me the other day, and we were having extreme difficulty screwing it into the box. I took a look at it, and there is something metal blocking two of the mounting holes, the rest seem to be fine with just the foam like they should be. I cannot mount this thing as I can't screw the two holes in since there is metal blockage of some sort. I have no idea why there would be metal blocking some of the holes, or what it could be. Any idea of what is going on here?

did the rubber gasket move? you just need to adjust it and line the holes up

uhhh, screw some new holes/ end thread.....recones dont always line up with the holes

actually turn the sub upside down an just poke some new holes in the surround

can't really tell from a picture. It is either metal of some sort or some dried up adhesive that I can't drill through.

I would rather not start poking holes in it though? Also how do I know where I make a new hole won't also be blocked by whatever is blocking the two holes? I don't want to have a million holes in this thing.

I mean Fi reconed this for me, shouldn't it be lined up correctly?

You can drill through it. Maybe need a better tool.

like i said the holed dont always line up, and it doesn't matter. Just use yur head and poke a hole in the rubber to the hole

I've never heard of the pre-drilled mounting holes having blockage, nor having to drill extra holes in the surround myself.

Not really pre drilled. It's just they figure you will drill through the rubber part. It will be ok.

Its probably just some excess CA glue. just drill or poke through it...

pic posted now, definitely metal of some sort. What is the metal that is randomly blocking it and how do I make sure I don't hit it again if I make a new hole?
