Recone ideas??

What can i pull off with these baskets and motors? I don't know measurements , all i know is they are 15's PWR-415 , 4" coils. Any speaker guys who wanna chime in with ideas feel free.

BTW , i'm looking to build something that will get low and handle 1KW RMS with Ease. Also this is just for future reference , these are working fine now and i'm gonna play with them for awhile , just eventually i plan on building something nice out of them.

I'm sure you will want to move to a dual voice coil, and I'm not sure what will fit but a winding width greater then the stock 1" winding should certainly give you more xmax and powerhandeling. If a power HX2 coil would fit that would be a good option, so long as there are no clearance problems with the depth and the coil running into the backplate. You might also consider going with copper wire over aluminum for a lower FS and better powerhandeling. If you can get significantly more xmax with a different coil, you will obviously need a cone with a wider surround also.

i'm not sure about the gap. lemme ask geoff , he has a set of these motors right now.

i just checked and these motors are about 2.5" thick give or take. not sure how much extra room i have in there though , thats not exactly a good way to tell. LOL

will you know what parts to get without me tearing it down? Or will i need to use a micrometer and spec it all out? I've never done one before and figure if i'm gonna do it , i'm gonna do it big. LOL
