which would not work with his amp of 300rms at 2ohm if he wanted 2 12's

correct i would also go with a single sub with his power x2 i agree. also ported, use the money he will save and get a nice ported box built But he wanted 2 so i gave him the best options i know at 2.

also single 15 sealed vs 2 12's sealed

Jbl gt5's require very little power to get moving. Sound pretty good too. They are only about 50$

I have never used nvx, have heard some good things. the specs look really good for a sealed enclosure

probably junk for sealed. When cscstang when he ran a pair of vsws didnt get loud at all according to him and he had a lot of power to them.

Thanks everyone, I've got plenty to look into now....so that's a no to the CT sounds correct? Are they really scammers? I have heard rumors of Skar audio's owner being a **** about stuff. Maybe him and Meade are bosom buddies?

I'm a little skeptical of the LCS's output on 150 watts though...I mean my W3v3 barely moves as it is. I used to have a pair of old Fosgate subs that really pounded on an old punch 60ix which wasn't much over 100 watts...trying to get subs like that again.

I'm using 1 12 right now, the JL Audio W3v3 4 ohm...but 150 watts just can't really push it. I used to have it on a JL 600 watt amp and it's a fine sub as was my W6v2 but I realized I don't need the power since I rarely push 50 % of my volume these days.

Wanting 2 subs because I'd like to go a little deeper since I cut off the frequency at 60 hz. Reason being is that 80hz cutoff is over bearing in my car. I think the cabin gain increases frequencies above 60hz or something cause it's very uhm..not muddy but just too much. I tried to EQ it down on my HU but it effects my fronts and makes it all worse sounding. 60hz cutoff is just right but a bit too subdued with that W3

Tight of course, isn't that what it means to you? It's a negative derivative of acoustical phase, how fast the acoustic phase changes. I'm really sensitive to group delay for some reason. I know how my music should sound. I used to have a W6v2 but not running that kind of power anymore. But in order to build a ported to be that tight is way outside the size and scope and 3db isn't worth it imo. I got a Honda now and stuff to haul, family, dog...you get the picture but I enjoy my sound quality.

That jbl you linked is just a gt with an easy impedence switch. Id save the 50 and get the standard gt5.

That alpine type s is a good one to look into. The new ones utilize an underhung design. Idk if 150w can do it justice tho. But the new S is a good design

that can be fixed with enclosure design, EQ and time alignment.

pioneer 304d $42 should be ok at 150 rms 250 better but that's true of all really, always worked good for me but I did have 250rms.. the new sundown looks ok but know if anyone had it yet.... does anyone think a cheap 15 would be louder with 150 watts? but yeah run it at 2 ohm if u can big diff between 150-300., if he does 300rms do u guys think $94 American bass be good?

I found a Focal 30 DB sub that retails around $300 for just $99 on Amazon, free shipping. 50-300 watts handling and .88 ft3 sealed enclosure....seems like this might be a good sub compared to the others in that price and most use foam surround but this has butyl so should last longer. Dual ferrite magnet, 93 db sensitivity. What do you guys think?

I never hear much of anything about Focal but they seem like a fairly high end brand. I guess this would be a good time to ask, any chances this is a fake clone sub? $99 is quite a price difference over Crutchfields price.

don't want to hi-jack the thread but what exactly did skar do? I ordered a sub and amp from them and had nothing but good service and excellent shipping. The sub sounds like complete crap but other than that it was good.

Dang it. I had no clue. I think its amusing to see a rip off set of like hertz tweeters for $7 but a copy just close enough and put a different name on it is misleading. By the way, who's Jacob? I hope that's not like the movie Sandlot and asking who babe ruthe is to the car audio world.
